Covered with burn scars, having lost an eye and a thumb in a nearly fatal accident, Luke Morgan's days as a ladies' man are over. But his bitterness, far more than his injuries, threatens to tear apart his family and their business.
Abby Stanford is a physical therapist on vacation in Florida. When she meets Luke, she understands everything he's going through. She finds herself powerfully attracted to him, damaged though he believes he is. Abby can look beyond his pain and anger to see the man he is inside, enabling Luke, too, to see himself as whole and desirable once again
Good book! Great story line and an easy read. I liked it enough that I read this book in one sitting, cover to cover. It was easy to fall for both Aaron and Luke, and to hope that things worked out for Abby.I loved Abby's character. She was determined, stubborn but still witty and funny. I'd actually like to see a follow-up to this book. I'd love to know more about how Luke deals with his injuries, and see if Aaron decides to find a woman and settle down. I almost always fall in love with characters and like to know how things work out for them. I guess that's why I like series books so much!My only complaint, as far as the story, is Abby's insistence on the word "love." In my opinion, the word can get tossed around with little meaning, but actions speak louder than words. Abby is very insistent on hearing Luke say it, but I thought his actions spoke louder. But overall, the book was fun and a very enjoyable read.read more
