R.A. Salvatore's The Cleric Quintet tells the tale of the scholar-priest Cadderly, who is plucked from the halls of the Edificant Library to fulfill a heroic quest across the land of Faerûn.

The assassins of the Night Masks stalk the shadowy streets of the city of Carradoon, led by the sinister killer known as Ghost. Cadderly struggles against the dreaded Chaos Curse in these dark, evil-haunted alleyways, with a silent death around every corner.

Slowly getting through his early books. Pretty standard fantasy fare, but I'm interested now to see how powerful this Cadderly fellow gets.read more

Evil isn't finished with Cadderly and the remaining residents of the library. As he grows in his faith and powers, the challenges become greater. There's some character development, in an AD&D sense, and a decent plot.read more

This brings out all of the secrets that all of the real ledgen of drizzt fans want to know. The plot was amazing and with a hint of action packed fun. The fighting is just as disreptive as ever. The plot could use some work like the end fight is just seemed to kill every body off. The ending of the book was disapointing but you should read the book your self to find out if the ending is how you would think it would.
