      This is the second book in the Dreamhouse Kings series. It's written for young adults but the story line is interesting enough for most adults. The father and the three kids now have a mission inside the house. They are learning something new all the time about the house but it may not be enough, plus now another wants the house and will stop at nothing to acquire that goal.

      This is the second book in the Dreamhouse Kings series.I don't think it was as good as the first one, but it wasn't bad. It finished with a cliffhanger, so I might buy the third book. Overall, I liked it. The characters are still like-able and there were a few twists and turns that kept you interested the whole time.

      I thought that this book was a FANTASTIC book!!!!!!!! It was so mysterious and dark, i never wanted to put my book down!!!!!! Once the book was done i read the same book again!!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!!

      Not quite as good as the first book in the series. The tight family bonds - especially between the older boy and his dad - got a bit annoying, but thankfully those passages were short.

      The 2nd in the series started out a little slow for me. The ending made up for it though and as in the 1st book, excites me for the next installment. Once again I applaud Liparulo as this is a great 'boy book' Lots of adventure for them to sink their teeth in. Keep 'em coming!!!

      In the second book of the Dreamhouse Kings series we are introduced to an assyrian assassin and an old man who must leave his nursing home and get back to the old house the Kings now live in to help them. A strange man is trying to force the family out. He knows about the portals into other worlds and he knows about their missing mother. While traveling to other worlds to try to find their mother, the children and father must start school as if everything is okay. This is made difficult when David breaks his arm and the strange man has hinted to the doctor that the broken arm and other bruises are from an abusive father. This is just one of many tricks he tries to get rid of the family. He finally bribes the police into arresting their father, but is unable to get the children out of the house.

      A fun and brilliant story idea! I liked this book, but it did not keep me wanting more and more like the previous Dreamhouse Kings book. It was a fun continuation of the saga but nothing more. I would recommend this to others who've read the books, but this book definitely wouldn't be able to stand on its own.
