About this ebook

There's something spooky about Maud's new school, in the first book in this fun and scary new series When Maud's pet rat, Quentin, escapes in the middle of science class, it's the very last straw. Maud is transferred from Primrose Towers to Rotwood Middle School—to the delight of her teacher, classmates and her perfect twin, Milly—but what is in store at Rotwood? There is something strange about the pupils of Rotwood. Everyone is dressed as though it's Halloween, and the school's motto is "Because We Scare." Is 10-year-old Maud Montague monstrous enough for Rotwood?

I'm far too old to be reading children's books but in between tense thrillers and lofty historical tomes I sometimes like to chill out by reading something a lot lighter and kids books are a great gap filler.I'm guessing the target audience for this is primary school girls but would also make good bedtime reading material for parents to scare the children to sleep.I'd thoroughly recommend this as it was a fun read and a great way to kick off a series of books about Monstrous Maud
