From the New York Times bestselling Julie James--a delicious new romance featuring a beautiful Assistant U.S. Attorney who has some unfinished business with a brash billionaire heir.  For fans of Susan Mallery and Rachel Gibson.

HE’S PLAYING GAMES

Though Rylann Pierce tried to fight the sparks she felt for billionaire heir Kyle Rhodes the night they met, their sizzling chemistry was undeniable. But after being stood up on their first date, Rylann never expected to see him again. So when she finds herself face to face with Kyle in a courthouse nine years later, she’s stunned. More troubling to the beautiful Assistant U.S. Attorney is that she’s still wildly attracted to him.
BUT SHE’S MAKING THE RULES
Just released from prison, Kyle Rhodes isn’t thrilled to be the star witness in a high-profile criminal case—but when Rylann comes knocking at his door, he finds she may be the one lawyer he can’t say no to. Still as gorgeous and sharp-tongued as ever, she lays down the law: she doesn’t mix business with pleasure. But Kyle won’t give up on something he wants—and what he wants is the one woman he’s never forgotten. . .

Clear rating

4.5 stars. Well, this one had a lot less suspense than the last two, since the FBI characters were peripheral.

I love when a hero and heroine have a "history"... :) In this case, it was only about 30 minutes of history (albeit including one really great kiss), but it was memorable enough that when Rylann and Kyle meet again 9 years later, both of them remember. (SUPER CUTE!)

Anyway, Rylann Pierce is an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) who has just transferred to Chicago (working under Cameron from Book 1). And day 1, she has to step in for another AUSA who's busy... The case? The one Jordan was promised in Book 2: Getting her twin brother, Kyle Rhodes, off with time served. And when their eyes meet across the courtroom... haha! Well. They both remember.

And then Rylann gets another case where Kyle is a possible witness... (Conveniently enough...) So they keep getting thrown into each others' paths. And they're definitely still attracted to each other. But she CAN'T get involved with a witness on a case! (The conversation she has about this with her best friend Rae is hilarious, btw! Loved that!)

And then, when the case is over, and things start to *cough* pick up, she's really worried about being an AUSA who's dating an ex-con (even though his crime was like... SOOOOO not that big a deal (at least in my eyes!!)). So they have this secret underground relationship...

My only complaint was, again, with the f-bombs. Not sexy. Just coarse. Seriously.

Anyway, other than that, it was SO CUTE! I stayed up until nearly 6 AM reading it. OOPS!!!!read more

Okay, I'm gonna start this review off a little different from others. This series was phenomenal; an excellent read and even in my world where I try to get reading done, but often my life and/or my own writing interferes, I just couldn't put this series down, especially this book. I do think About That Night is the best of the series so far. To see Kyle finally get his HEA was a nice ride and the quirks that happen between him and Rylann were so funny, they had me laughing so hard I was in tears.I would definitely recommend this series to anyone looking for a bit of suspense, a lot of comedy and a whole lot of sexy scenes. A great read, once again.5 out of 5 stars.read more

I am slightly disappointed with this book. I loved the 1st and 2nd book in the series but this book fell flat for me. When I reached the halfway mark I realized this was not going to have the action like the others. Rylann and Kyle were plain and nothing really happened. If this would have been the first book I might not have continued to read the series.read more

Wow, Kyle Rhodes, so much more than just another pretty face. Rylann and Kyle have a fantastic history before they meet again in the courtroom, and I really enjoyed reading how both of them work through their issues to be together. Also, Kyle's a talker. Be still my heart.

I was not even sure if I will read this book because the first two books in the series were just ok for me. But I liked this one, the best so far.

I liked the characters a lot, which makes me sad that I didn't like their story more. The first half was more legal drama and less romance drama than I was hoping for, and the best parts seemed like a rehash of the author's Just the Sexiest Man Alive. The second half was a lot more interesting to me (the h/h actually spend time together, which helps) but I kind of felt like there were about three or four storylines fused together awkwardly.
