      Bob woke up and listened carefully. Someone was rummaging through their stuff. Should he call the police? Was Marlene safe? He reached over to find Marlene but she was not there. Slowly he turned towards the noise. It was dark and hard to see but someone was over there. He watched and thought about how to catch them without getting himself beat up. He waited for the intruder to turn. And as they did he saw that it was Marlene.

      What are you doing? he asked. Its three o’clock in the morning!

      I lost something she replied.

      Can’t it wait until the sun comes up?

      No. I need to find it now.

      Is there any chance that I can sleep while you search?

      I’m almost done.

      She was as quiet
