Dessert Recipes

Apple Crisp Recipe

Ingredients:

3 pounds Tart Apples

2 tablespoons Lemon Juice

1/2 cup Brown Sugar

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon Nutmeg

1/3 cup All-Purpose Flour

1/3 cup Granulated Sugar

1/3 cup Rolled Oats

4 tablespoons butter or 1/2 stick

1/2 cup Chopped Walnuts

Time: 45 min

Serves: 6

Instructions:

Peel and core then chop apples put in a bowl with lemon juice this will prevent them darkening.

In a separate bowl, Mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and stir into apples then set aside.

In another bowl mix flour, sugar and oats Then cut butter into 8 pieces.

Mix the butter into flour until mixture looks like crumbs then mix in the nuts.

Butter a 10 X 10-inch baking dish. Spread apples in bottom of baking dish then sprinkle with flour mixture.

Bake at 375° for 30 to 45 minutes, or until apples are tender and topping is nicely browned.

Leave to cool before serving

Serve with Ice Cream, Cream or even Custard.

Can be eaten hot or cold or even warm you chose.

Apple Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients:

8 Apples

2/3 cup Granulated Sugar

Butter

Cinnamon

1/2 cup Shortening

3/4 cup Brown Sugar

3 tablespoons Water

1 cup Flour

1/2 teaspoon Salt

Time: 45 min

Serves: 8

Instructions:

Heat oven to 350 F degrees.

Core and slice apples then spread half the apples in a 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Sprinkle with ½ the granulated sugar and brush with butter then dust with cinnamon.

Now repeat.

Mix the brown sugar and shortening and If apples are dry, add water.

Add salt to flour and cut into the shortening mixture to make a crust.

Roll out the crust; transfer to top of apples. Bake 40 to 45 minutes.

Leave to cool before serving.

Serve with Ice Cream, Cream or even Custard.

Apple Crumble Recipe

Ingredients:

500g / 1 lb cooking Apples

150g / 6oz Granulated Sugar

Topping:

150g / 6oz plain Flour

75g / 3oz Butter

50 to 75g / 2 to 3oz Caster sugar

Time: 1 hr

Serves: 4

Instructions:

Peel, core and slice the apple into slices and put into a 1 litre or 2 pint heatproof dish in layers with granulated sugar.

Mix flour in a bowl then rub in butter finely.

Add sugar then toss lightly so the ingredients mix together.

Sprinkle Crumble over fruit thickly and evenly then press down softly with your palm, and to smooth top use a knife

Preheat the oven to 190 c or 375 f then bake for 15 minutes

Reduce temperature down to 180 c or 350 f and bake for a further 45 minutes, or until the top is a nice light
