From the Publisher

The famous "Blitz" defense was devised by Hunk Anderson. This is just one of the many innovations he brought to the game. Anderson probably contributed more to the growth of football than any other player or coach since the game first appeared on the American scene. He definitely is one of the unsung heroes of the game. He was born in the same town as George Gipp, played at Calumet High School with the Gipper and was his teammate at Notre Dame. After playing for Rockne, he later became head coach at Notre Dame after Rockne's untimely death. The book traces Anderson's legendary playing and coaching career from high school, through college and in the days when the NFL was growing into the gigantic sport it is today. This is a great read if you love football, both college and pro.
