Yes indeed. The details will be inside, but here’s the gist of it: all you need to do is break into a secure building and wipe their on-site research. It’s probably going to be stored on a backup hard disk, but it will be time and a lot of paranoid money spent on recouping what they nearly lost. They’ll also be wondering why. That’s what our employer is looking for. Simple.
Wipe hard drives.
Torch samples. Hard files. Yeah. Make a mess of things.
That was it. No game playing, getting into peoples’ confidence over a period of weeks or months, no disgusting seductions resulting in secrets told, nobody spread-eagled on the floor with their gray matter splayed out on the walls behind them. They only had to deal with inanimate objects. How hard could it be?

So what’s your plan?
Arnie Pliskow asked him. They were all sitting in Greer's room, with it's boring beige walls and olive green everything else. Arnie was lying on the bed, Santiago was in the study chair, and Greer was pacing the room. Drysdale watched him go, looking like a hungry caged tiger.
I…I don’t know.
Shit,
Greer said. You been fuckin’ around with us for the last two years, and now this? You say you don’t know? When the hell are you gonna start knowing?
Soon alright.
Where the hell is the squad leader who used to make bets against the other squads?
Greer asked him.
He’s the same dude who got told that he was getting expelled if he kept that shit up, okay?
That quieted them down some. I haven’t given it any thought yet.
You’ve had the job for three days,
Santiago said quietly. She looked her customary nervous self, only maybe more so now. We got to get a plan together.
We just blow up the building,
Arnie said.
No can do,
Greer said. These servers here, and here, they’re working from heat safe cases. Special new ceramic the company developed, it floods these gaps here with liquid nitrogen to keep everything cool, no matter what. Liquid nitro’s on a heat-release failsafe switch, and the tanks are in the server cases. Same deal with their digital storage banks. These are in an extrusion of the building, like a bomb shelter, so if the rest of the building collapses, they won’t be crushed.
We gotta break in then,
Santiago nearly whispered.
