    Sir Richard John Hadlee, MBE, was born on 3rd July 1951 at St. Albans, Christchurch, New Zealand.

    Hadlee is one of the most successful former New Zealand cricketers. He is regarded as one of the most effective and greatest fast bowlers and all rounders in the history of Test Cricket.

    In the year 1980, Hadlee was appointed MBE, and then in the year 1990 he was knighted for his great service to the game of cricket.
