      Well written, great paced book with an interesting introduction to this new magical realm. Not too much is divulged about the Magic aspect in this first book, so its more about love and self-discovery, but after reading the next book's synopsis it seems that should be rectified. This is not a story with deep meaningful overtures but it is definitely a very enjoyable read.

      Joclyn has a mark. She doesn't know why or how it got there. Overall she ignored it and covered it with baggy clothes so nobody knew. But on her birthday her father ,who left her when she was a small child, sends her a letter. Along with the letter was something, something mysterious and magical. The letter said something about magic and her mark, but Joclyn thought he was being paranoid. Until the next day. She shows her mark to Ryland,her best friend. But Ryland acts in a strange way and tells her to run, and says that his father is out to kill her because of the mark. Her world is turned upside-down and she has to learn magic and kill Ryland's evil father and save Ryland.I finished this book in a few days because it was so interesting!

      Kiss Of Fire bring us into the world that involves magic, different creatures, and constant fight between good and evil. Joclyn is the Chosen Child who received a Kiss that gave her magic. But all her life she hated that "Kiss", a scar by her ear that she tried to hide every single minute of her life. Because her dad walked out on her, the only thing Joclyn could do is blame herself for everything and try not to stand out. Her Best friend Ryland is the only friend she has but soon she starts to realize that the feelings she has for him are stronger than just regular friendship and feelings might be mutual. At the same time she meets Wyn who is new at school and she finally feels like she made another friend. So when Ryland asks her to watch a movie at his house, she's excited and cannot wait to tell Wyn the details but that's when everything goes wrong. Ryland finally sees the scar and tell her to start running. Sh*t blows up (totally awesome!!!), badass fighting happens and Joclyn is near death. After she gets rescued and healed, she has to save Ryland from his father before he erases all of his memory of her and uses his powers for his own good.

      From the very start I absolutely loved the story line and was very interested to see what the book holds. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw how relatable Joclyn's character was. But as the book went on, I really started disliking her. There are just couple of things that I did not like about her. Here are some of them:

      1. Joclyn is always scared, angry, and blames the mark. for. everything!!!

      2. Tries to push people away even when they try to help her. she's "uncomfortable".. KMN!

      3. Always says "don't care" at the most times when she's in danger.

      4. Fight at the mansion on graduation party: sat there and looked at people while they almost died.

      So overall, the book was amazing and I'm excited to see what the other books hold but the character is what bugged me the most. Otherwise, it's not bad :)

      Now, Rebecca is an incredible author, and I <3 her books with a passion.How could I not?!Love, honour, sacrifice, friendship!Everything you could want in a great book, and more!Joclyn Despain.Poor sweet Joclyn..We first meet her on her 5th birthday, right before her life changes forever..Years later, Joclyn’s a reclusive teenager with one friend: Ryland LaRue.Mmm..Ryland..Since she was 5, Ryland is the only one who’s accepted Joclyn as she is, never thought her weird and stood up for her, even to the school bullies.Despite going to a different, private school.How sweet and endearing is that?!Makes my heart melt just thinking about it.We all need a guy like that in our lives..Things change when Wyn, fellow oddball, arrives at the school, and quickly latches onto Joclyn.Downside?Wyn has a stuffy older brother, Ilyan.Creepy McStalker much??From there..So.
