Seducing Cinderella (A Fighting for Love Novel) by Gina L. Maxwell

Mixed martial arts fighter Reid Andrews's chance to reclaim his title as light heavyweight champ is shattered when he's injured only months before the rematch. To make sure he's healed in time, his trainer sends him to recuperate under a professional's care--Reid's best friend's little sister, all grown up. Disorganized and bookish Lucie Miller needs some professional help of her own. She'd do anything to catch the eye of a doctor she's crushed on for years, so when Reid offers seduction lessons in exchange for 24/7 conditioning for the biggest fight of his career, Lucie jumps at the chance. Soon Reid finds himself in the fight of his life...winning Lucie's heart before she gives it to someone else.

I’m afraid that “Seducing Cinderella” just wasn’t for me. As the synopsis states, Reid needs help getting fixed up after an injury and asks Lucie to assist him in doing so. He moves in with her and starts teaching her the keys of seduction. He takes her shopping; he picks everything out for her. He takes her to the hair salon so that she can update her look. He also takes her to the make-up counter and encourages her to learn the technique of putting on make-up. For some reason, in my mind, a MMA fighter would know what he liked in a woman (clothes, hair, make-up, etc.) but might not know how to achieve it. This part to me just seemed far-fetched.However, it was a cute story. As the reader, you rooted for Lucie to have her crush eating out of her hands and I loved it when it happened. But I found that I really didn’t like her crush and I wanted Reid to be the object of her affection because while he was teaching her how to seduce, you saw a different side of him. A side that made your heart melt.~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~read more

This is the first published novel by author Gina Leigh Maxwell, and an exciting start it is.This story introduces us to a very unlikely couple. Lucie Miller, Physical Therapist who is quiet, disorganized, and totally unaware of her own attributes and Reid Andrews, a big, bad, drop dead gorgeous MMA fighter. The details of this tantalizing story have been written by other excellent reviewers. These are my thoughts. This novel treats us to characters that are honest, strong, and who believe in themselves. Lucie does need a little coaching in that department! The love scenes are HOT, and I emphasize love. Seducing Cinderella is such an enjoyable read on so many levels, I laughed, and cried, and loved every page written. Thank you Ms. Maxwell for your extraordinary ability to tell us this delightful story! Greatly anticipating the next in this series.read more

I finished this book with a "meh". Predictable tropes, rather flat characters, and humor that falls entirely flat. Nothing annoyed me to the point that I stopped reading, but I think that was luck more than anything else. The chemistry was pretty forgettable, and Lucie's naive waif persona was pretty obnoxious.read more

3,5 stars. A fun read with a hot and likable Hero. It is well written and I liked the humor a lot. It will not become a favourite because of the not very original plot/storyline and the heroine. I don't like the shy, once disappointed, not-believing-in-her-own-beauty/attractivity-kind of girls; I like kick-ass heroines - and that she was not, but that is personal taste. Also some of the dialogue between the H and h was walking on a very fine line between sweet and schmaltzy.

I can't think of one thing I didn't like about this wonderful book!

Great romance, engaging characters and of course - a happily ever after.

Looking forward to more from this author - maybe a book about Vanessa?
