Jacob Theison thinks he’s better than all the other folk who live in the picturesque town of Pembroke Eve. It’s no place for a modern guy and he wants to leave, try his luck on the greener pastures of anywhere else.
That is until he realizes one thing. Deep down he’s just like everyone else, a country guy through and through.
I've read quite of few glowing reviews on Mark Alders books and have several more I plan to read, even though I found this one not to my liking. Which, is probably my fault for choosing a YA cast of characters, not usually my thing. Also this was not the romance I was hoping for either, rather fu*k-buddies that profess to love each other, but I just wasn't feeling it. The sci-fi is way out there as well, a little too out there for me.Haven't given up yet, Mark. I already own Unicorn's Peril and The Nourisher (which I can't wait to read) and will try again.read more
