Chapter One
Abigail was on the rebound after her prior romance had ended up in disaster and she was looking for a quick fix; what she actually needed was superglue for her broken heart. She was on the verge of calling it quits, putting an end to her romantic notions, but she knew that leaving her precious heart in its present state of turmoil would invite trouble; she might never be able to mend it back to its full glory. She had no wish to end up as an old spinster or join some kind of commune for the rest of her life.
Abigail was still young, there were plenty of miles left on her odometer. She was hardly ever driven at the speed with which she is capable of being driven; of being taken to heights of passion that men only dream of. Although the Romeos in her life were at their peaks, she knew that she could be handled better, faster, to extremes men wouldn’t be able to fathom. She was ecstatic even just thinking about such an exploit.
Abigail was deep in thought. She didn’t need to work for a while as she was frugal with her wealth. What good is money, if you are going to end up alone. She wanted her man, and she wanted him now before she was hauled off into the scrap heap, certified as junk — spinster. She was also aware that if she waited any longer, she might need new batteries and a radical tune up before any man looked her way.
She liked the way she looked now, but looks could fade fast especially if your skin is white. No protection from the elements and she had seen some of the over forty crowd in her church. They looked more like they were over sixty. The sudden transformation was remarkable and she figured that it probably explains why the affluent men had a tendency to leave their wives for younger women, looks were part of it and she for one, was not intending to fall in that trap. She could always marry a much older man to avoid such fates, nipping it right in the bud!
She remembered a real life story she heard from one of her much married friends. Although Brian was an engineer working at a reputed firm he was suffering from a lack of female companionship. He didn’t care about money or his job; there was only one thing on his mind and that was getting himself a wife, a good one at that. He was willing to put everything else on the backburner, until as long as it took. He tried all the usual places, starting with the church pews; he tried talking to god, even to his parish priest; he was not about to leave any stones unturned in his quest for a bride. Praying or the pastor was not of much help, so he tried clubs, but the girls were too slutty and not classy enough for his taste. He got the impression that they were there just to satisfy their primeval urges and they took relationships as a byproduct. "Hey, if something comes out of
