Lung Cancer: What Now? Part 1 of 4

12 pages1 minute

Treatment for lung cancer is like going to a casino. Some play big, some play small. A few won but many lost their hard earned fortune. A Russian physician, dramatist and author wrote, "The only difference between doctors and lawyers is that lawyers merely rob you, whereas doctors rob you and kill you too." Take time to reflect on this statement. The stake in the "cancer casino" is high.

Many patients who came to us were "medically written off." Their plea was, "I followed what my doctors asked me to do. I thought I could be cured." If you are at this stage, there is no need to plead innocence. It is too late. Of course at CA Care we shall try our best to help you pick up the pieces. But don't except us to cure you because there is no cure for cancer.

There are two ways to learning. One is to read or listen to what others write or say. Read and read. Listen and listen. And you know more and more. Hopefully with this new found knowledge you learn how to avoid the treacherous path. Another way is to learn through your own experience. It is fine if you come out of it alive, but many lost their lives along the way. Their stories were left buried in their graves. The world has lost these valuable teachers. Over the years I have the unpleasant task of listening to case after case of tragic experiences. I share with you some of these stories in this book. It is my sincere hope that their experiences become a guide for those who come after them. By writing these stories I am not asking you to forsake medical treatment. By all means, follow what your heart says. It is your life. It is your choice.
