Reader reviews for Seeds of Discovery: Dusk Gate Chronicles

The first book of a series of an intended three, Seeds of Discovery (Dusk Gate Chronicals) opens a gate into a parallel world of similar chronology slightly less technologically advanced. The protagonist is set up for future excursions and the writing is kept flowing with potential conflict of interest between some of the characters as well as some unresolved problems. By itself, the book is good but incomplete. The writing is apparently aimed at Young Adults. This was an eBook received from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Seeds of Discovery (Dusk Gate Chronicles - Book One)Author Breena Puttroff Reviewed byJackie Anton “Seeds of Discovery” was a pleasant surprise. I don't think I would have ever read this book if not for this tour. While there were some minor typos, and errors early in this book the storyline was fascinating. I enjoyed it enough to pick up the next in the continuing story of Quinn who is torn between two worlds. Book two kind of left the reader hanging. So on to Book three to see how Quinn decides to deal with two alternate worlds, and three heartthrobs. Cliff hangers are meant to keep the readers wanting the next installment. Puttroff has successfully written just such a series.Personally, I was disappointed that no conclusion had been reached by either Quinn, or the author by the conclusion of book three. Thus, I have lost interest, but I think young adult readers will enjoy the story of Seeds of Discovery, and the subsequent books. Quinn finds herself in another world while following William down near the river. Quinn quickly becomes friends with William's entire family. Much to William’s chagrin his younger brother Thomas and Quinn become inseparable. This book is a fun and quick read and when the reader is finished they will want more. They will want to know more about Quinn, more of her relationships with Zander, Thomas, and William. “Roots of Insight” (Book Two) will provide more of all the characters as well as some interesting twist and turns. Note: This review was from the Kindle version.

Wow! What a great book from an awesome new writer! Breeana was offering free copies of her book in exchange for honest reviews, and I thought I would lend a hand, really hoping that I would like the book. I didn't need to worry, though, because I was drawn into the story from the first page and I couldn't stop reading until I was finished! The characters were fully fleshed out and the world building was amazing! Quinn starts following her schoolmate William around when he begins to act mysteriously and finds herself literally falling into a whole new world! Eirentheos sounds like a beautiful place, and is described very well. Thankfully, Quinn isn't the panicky type of girl, so we didn't have to read on and on about how there was no way this could be happening to her, was she going crazy, etc. She accepted where she was because she had no choice - it was real and that's all there was to it. This was definitely a refreshing viewpoint for the heroine/female MC to take! When she found out she was sort of stuck there for 10 days, she decided to embrace it and make the best of it, and to help out as much as she could. Unfortunately, during Quinn's time there, there was an outbreak of a very serious illness among the children of the kingdom. As William was one of the doctors in Eirentheos (people live a lot longer there as 10 of their days equal one of ours), Quinn traveled around the kingdom with him (and his very charming brother, Thomas) to help out. There is a nice little mystery involved in what is making the children sick. There is also a definite bad guy in the form of Tolliver, who tries to force himself on Quinn as soon as he meets her.I'm not going to say any more about that because I don't want to ruin it for you, but I will say that I can't wait to read the next installment in what is looking like a very intriguing new series from a very talented new writer :D

This series is going to be amazing and I cannot wait to read the next. The easy flow of the story and the characters are down to earth, which naturally evolves into a page turner.

Quinn is a typical teenage girl, going to school, having friends and even a potential boyfriend. William is classed as a loner and nobody seems to notice or pay him attention. One day Quinn notices William walking toward a bridge and doesn't understand what he is up to. She sees him a again and her curiosity is piqued. Deciding to follow him, she ends up in another world entirely. Some how she has walked through a gate and into another place.

Quinn is now a guest of this new realm and gets to discover a whole new way of life and adventures.

I highly recommend this to all fantasy readers. The adventures that the reader follows with Quinn is addictive and you can't help but fall for the characters and the world Breeana creates.
