Day One – Above the Noise

    1st Kings 19:11, 12

All life speaks, but to hear God means knowing what you’re listening for.

There is a distinction in God’s voice. It’s relatively easy to detect once you learn to filter the surrounding noise. It presents itself in the many available writings and interpretations created for every level student - believer. His word and all its stirrings are there and available for you to learn to hear Him - properly.

Audibly at times, though not necessarily so. It’s more of a matter of ensuring clarity and understanding. Providing, with certainty, the best instructions available to handle every given situation. This is the joy of hearing – learning to receive from God’s Word. To comprehend His word, by hearing His voice; Understanding, rather, meaning grasping what the Spirit (God) has to say to you. (Hebrew 3:7)

Many may ask - how can I know? How do I recognize or distinguish His voice from mine or others? The answer is simple. Begin to filter what you listen to. You might think, I go to church. I follow various preachers. I judge what I think is a right direction. Yet these are only some filters to push you toward the one filter - The pure Word of God. (John 1:1)

Spiritually, physically, communicatively; all these things are yours for hearing or learning to hear, to receive from, the actual voice of God. (1st Corinthians 13:12)

They are yours to compliment the truest filter - His word.

You may know of it as The Bible. Yet in reality it’s the one tool, its one purpose is, to serves as your tuner for hearing, receiving the clearest instruction on every level of life’s journey. It’s the one note that helps you discern the instruction of His Spirit, the letter of His teachings and the interest of His intentions towards you. Some may argue, yet God gave this guide to you and for you. Weigh it against the character of what’s being said, what’s being heard or what you’re listening to. Then see if things don’t begin to clarify themselves as human or God inspired.

    A New Thought:

I know God speaks to me; I am not swayed by doubts or insecurities. His instruction, His knowledge is my guide. My faith is in His call.

    His promise:

    Matthew 24:35

(ESV) – Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

    Relative Thinking

    Psalm 29:3 - 9

    Isaiah 50:4

    Isaiah 55:11

    John 15:15
