Read the cult-favorite coming of age story that takes a sometimes heartbreaking, often hysterical, and always honest look at high school in all its glory. Now a major motion picture starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a funny, touching, and haunting modern classic.

The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky, Perks follows observant “wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

A #1 New York Times best seller for more than a year, an American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults (2000) and Best Book for Reluctant Readers (2000), and with millions of copies in print, this novel for teen readers (or “wallflowers” of more-advanced age) will make you laugh, cry, and perhaps feel nostalgic for those moments when you, too, tiptoed onto the dance floor of life.

Favorite book of all times.more
The narrative really makes you see what a very gifted but struggling teenager is going through. All the characters have well etched out personalities and you can almost predict what their next move is going to be after getting to know them half way through the book...this story is by no means predictable but it's like when you know someone well enough, you know what they're going to do in a given situation. I loved Charlie's relationship with his teacher, the evolving bond between him and his sister and all the different nuances of friendship this book exploredmore

This book is totally awesome.more
Although this book is rather emotional, I think that it is a great coming of age novel that reminds us that we do not have to be happy all the time. We should embrace every aspect of life and it's lessons.more
It is one of the best books I've read in a long time, loved it!?more
I possibly need to re-read this book, but at the time I read it, I found it to be depressing. I enjoyed the characters, and the overall story arc, but the ending got to me emotionally. I would not recommend you read this if you are looking for something feel-good. However, I will mention that this is one of my best friends' favorite books, so if you do not mind the emotional wretching, read it.more
I like it, I really did.more
I love the book ???????????????❤️❤️❤️❤️more
Wonderfulmore
Rooted for all the characters!more
FLIPPIN' AMAZINGmore
No tuve la oportunidad de leer el libro, pero la pelicula es realmente excelente. Desde ahi que no puede dejar de escuchar el tema de David Bowiemore
I really enjoyed this book. It was written very differently from most books. The story is told through letters written by the main character, Charlie, to a stranger. Although, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is not my usual genre but I still loved it very much and think that it is one of those books that every teenager can relate to in some way and should be read. It's one of those few books that I think anyone can (and should) read and enjoy it very much. Even if they aren't much of a reader.more
