The dictionary defines meditation as the continued or extended thought; reflection; contemplation.

So what does meditation actually mean? Just what is this thing called meditation? Well it is simple. I will let you in with an illustration. In our daily lives, we get crowded and overwhelmed especially in this jet age where everything seems to be instant.

This soon leads to stress and tensions, which ultimately affect our health. There are so many people dying from stress in our modern world than it was in the olden days.

Meditation can simply be defined as the process of quieting or making our mind to be calm. Gradually, as our mind becomes calmer, the chatter that so often blocks our minds will give way to an inner calmness or coolness. As this continues, you start to move mentally to a more tranquil place. This is what we mean by meditation. I hope you can now relate to what is meditation.
