      CHAPTER 1: THE DIXON ACCOUNT

      The room was white with four windows at the center of four padded walls.  A bright overhead light illuminated only the center of a rickety old musty wooden table. It was raining outside and the perpetual dripping of the water against the window panes only added to the intensity of the moment.  Seth Dixon is desperate and for some reason he feels as if he knew her so he opens up to speak to a woman he cannot see but only hear.

      "I proceeded too far in my research, and they knew it! Unbeknownst to the U.S. Government, so I thought, I gained the knowledge of what the U.S. government was long after – a two way pass between both time and dimensions. You know, being able to open dimensional doorways and time portals that would allow us to cross over and carry on awhile and return if we so desired.

      My level 10 security clearance allowed me access to important data regarding the earth’s crystalline grid. You see the government had started digging deep into the earth creating docking stations like miners as they dug further into the earth’s depth for that one precious resource. 

      I was the lead Quantum Physicist on the project. I took part in hundreds of secret meetings with top governmental officials.

      We were contacted in early 2011 and visited finally in 2012 by a team of 4 Quantum Jumpers from the year 2099.  They told us that in the year 2099 mankind will harness the technology of inter-dimensional travel.  They went on about the power of crystals found in the earth’s crystalline grid and its ability to create vortices in space time when exposed to the right level of energy frequency.  Our team was fascinated to learn more, but on the other hand; their team remained reluctant to divulge.

      They would always piss me off with the same damn answer. They would always warn us about the dangers of having their knowledge too soon. Since they only began to understand the laws of time and space and the Multiverse, they couldn’t tell with any certainty which single alteration to any one reality would have an adverse domino effect on others. That of course included their own.

      Although I understood the ethics, I argued vehemently as to their true purpose. Why even tell us as much and then leave us hanging and begging for answers. So I got desperate; I broke protocol and began visiting with the Master Sergeant of the 99ers; that’s what we called them. His name was Argo Bastillio. Since my security clearance was so high I had nothing preventing me from accessing their living quarters. You see, I knew when the guards would go home for the night. No one other than the few of us quantum physicist and mining engineers knew anything about what was going on. The project is of top secret, cold stone classified. And the operations were left unattended for hours over the weekend with the exception of the lead quantum expert –me.

      I gained his trust, we drank beer, discussed what life was like in 2099 all the while hoping he would divulge the one last missing peace – the energy field required to activate the crystals.  But the son of bitch was too sharp and would never go as far. I was burning inside. I got a temper you know – I guess it’s all
