      It was long past midnight in Gotham City. Most of the streets were empty. Old newspapers fluttered through damp alleys. Deep shadows hid under bridges. A lone armored truck drove down a side street on its way to a bank.

      An explosive device, hidden in the street, blasted the truck. The vehicle was thrown on its side. It slid across the street and smashed into an empty parked car.

      The driver and the security guards inside were tossed around like socks in a dryer. Car alarms filled the air. Flames shot up from the armored truck’s engine.
