The Cat Came Back

Length: 86 pages1 hour

Mr. Parsen steals $150,000 from his bank and is placed under house arrest. In this tale, Parsen reflects upon his life to a nameless writer who visits his home to interview him for a novel he plans to write about the crime. Parsen explains with great conviction why draining the account of a man in prison for beating up his girlfriend was "charitable work," but the elusive and manipulative narrator has dropped hints during the interview that he cannot be trusted, raising the suspicions of the interviewer who suggests that he might be writing a different end to the novel... one that involves deception, greed and murder.
