Success with Body Language

About this ebook
It's the last day of the week at your new job and the office is having a happy hour. You're the new kid on the block and barely know any of the other employees. You really want to make this job work and fit in with the group.
You decide that the best way to do that is by mingling and introducing yourself to co-workers you haven't met yet. You approach a well-dressed fellow leaning against a wall. He is standing alone and you figure he would be a good candidate to engage in conversation.
He sees you coming and automatically shifts his weight giving you a shoulder while crossing his arms. Whoops! What's the message you get? Yep, don't waste his time, so you follow that unspoken message and veer off to someone else.
Your next target is a cluster of folks all talking animatedly. As you walk up, they close ranks into a circle, lower their voices and you are very effectively shut out. Another message received.
Now, both of these scenarios may or may not are ones that you have experienced or observed. In the real world, this would probably not hold up but you can probably see where we're going here. Both situations are heard loud and clear even though not a word was spoken.
Every living being on the planet sends out messages based upon how they hold and/or move their body. Chances are that you never came upon a bear in the woods, but there's no mystery why experts tell you to stand straight, lift your arms and make very loud noises if that happens to you.
We certainly hope you never have to test that theory!
Every day we are emoting specific behaviors based on our body language. On one hand, it can be a blessing but, on the other, it's definitely a curse. The more "in-tune" you are with your own body language, the more effective you will be when communicating with others for whatever reason.
Learning the basics of body language will give you a skill not too many other people have or use. This can give you a decided advantage when it comes to establishing rapport with friends, family and in business relationships.
Ask yourself these three questions:
1.What if you could learn the body language of a liar?
2.What if you were able to learn this skill to get your message across accurately?
3.What if there was a way to learn about specific "tells" when gambling?
Well, you can, there is and it's not as difficult as you may believe.
How to get started!
You can enroll in comprehensive psychology classes at your local community college or university. Unless you are planning a career in counseling this could be a bit of overkill.
You can visit your library and roam through the stacks of mental health books that you will need to have translated to understand them. Heavy, dusty and most outdated, they are little more than a paperweight and their usefulness for you is negligible.
You don't need someone else's pontificating to learn what you need to use in your everyday life. What you need is a practical guide to help you learn and apply the knowledge once you learn it.
What you need is our guide called “Success With Body Language."
Some of the best parts are . . .
