      The bell rang to herald the match's end, and in the front row Jim joined the chorus of boos. In the ring, the half-naked muscleman in bright blue mask and matching briefs lay groaning in defeat. The huge woman standing over him defied the crowd with her chin held high, a cruel smile across her bloodied face. The referee handed her back the gold-plated leather belt, and the announcer confirmed the obvious.

      The winner, and still Littletown Wrestling Federation champion... Big Nessie!

      The giantess draped her belt across a shoulder and hopped out of the ring, strode in front of the barricade and shoved an audience member sideways off his chair. As she took the chair in hand and folded it up, Jim threw a handful of popcorn at her.

      Though he knew it was all just a show, his heart skipped a beat when she pointed at him. You watch, boy. Cause this gonna be you sometime soon.

      Nessie turned and rolled back into the ring, where her opponent had begun to climb unsteadily to his feet. She swung the chair hard into his back, and a loud smack echoed through the air as he fell facedown to the mat.

      This boy'll never wrestle again! she yelled. He'll get off lucky, if he ain't drinkin' through a straw!

      Without warning, the arena was bathed in a dark red glow. Jim could see the vague shape of a man run down the entrance ramp. The lighting returned to normal, and Big Nessie took a swing at the stringy-haired man in black leather pants who had joined her in the
