Description

Tumford isn't really a terrible cat. He just has a way of finding mischief—tracking dirt into the house, knocking over breakable things, and disrupting fancy parties. But even though he feels bad, he has a hard time saying, "I'm sorry." Will the fact that his owners love him, no matter what, help Tummy say the magic words?

I didn't like the story: too confusing. I'm not sure a preschooler would understand it. The rhymes are awkward, the sentences too long.
The illustrations are too bright and I didn't appreciate the author mixing photographs and digital images.

Tumford has trouble with 2 words: I'm Sorry. Tumford cannot seem to apologize for his mistakes but insteads hides when his owners find out the bad things he has done. Will tumford ever apologize for his mistakes? Read and see! A great book for students who may struggle with owning up to mistakes! Definitely a classrom must.

Not terrible at all. No self-respectiong cat will ever apologize!

Really this is on Amazon's Best of 2011 list? Clearly it was picked as a potential big seller, not for the quality of the text or illustrations.

Tumford is a kitty who won’t say sorry. "In spite of the manners he often forgot, he would not say "I'm sorry." Oh no he would not." Even so his owners love him no matter what he does. The painted illustrations of Tumford are the highlight of this book. This brightly illustrated rhyming book will be reassuring to youngsters having a hard time remembering to do the right thing.

Tumford is a very mischievous cat. But the problem is that when he causes mischief and messes things up he hides instead of saying he's sorry. Then his owners take him to the fair and make him promise to apologize when he makes a mess. When he spills on the Queen of the Fair he hides under a huge robe. Then he realizes that he'll make his family, and himself, proud by just apologizing. Therefore, he does, and the crowd cheers.A cute book to emphasize manners and apologizing in the classroom. The rhyming makes it fun, as well. The illustrations are wonderful!
