When I first looked at the exercises I thought they are some of those boring chord scales we are always bombarded with in our schools, colleges, university studies. But after practising a few of these exercises something struck my mind that these are gems to thoroughly understood and nurtured because they open up the mind of a musician and show him/her all the possibilities of transforming and using these arpeggios in formulating their improvisations. As for me I have decided this is a goldmine of ideas played in all keys. The cycle of 4ths or 5ths will hereby be well understood, and even a novice, beginner in jazz, will gain valuable knowledge and fluency in all keys. Emile and Laura have done a good job and they have demystified the mystery of jazz improvisation Enkosi (Thanks)
