- (4/5)A wealthy, uncaring man is haunted by Christmas Muppets. It's a great balancing act of the classic story with Muppet silliness. The humor is never great, but it's always at least pleasant. Meanwhile, the serious bits manage to be as effective as any other film of the story, despite the pretense of not taking things seriously.Concept: AStory: ACharacters: BDialog: BPacing: BCinematography: BSpecial effects/design: BActing: BMusic: CEnjoyment: AGPA: 3.2/4
- (4/5)The live action setting and actors would do credit to any movie version of this classic. The Muppets acting in character?are suitable companions; those acting as Muppet extras and narrators are, well, Muppety. The songs are serviceable although not particularly memorable, with the exception of the really moving scene where Belle leaves young Ebenezer. However, the "intervention" of the Muppets does make the darker parts of the story more accessible to children.
- (5/5)A wonderful musical adaptation of Charles Dickens, The Christmas Carol, as only the Muppets can do it. There is singing, laughing and sentiment. Leaves you feeling warm and fuzzy.
- (3/5)Easy reading. Good song to practice some Ragtime LH arrangements
- (4/5)Nice selection of tunes, but some selections are oddly missing their verses, most notably "Toyland," which is only the chorus and takes up barely 1/4 of the page real estate. Where is "When you grow up, my dear... etc.?" Still, there are some unexpected gems, like "Somewhere in My Memory"
