About this ebook

The word "miracle" means: “an event in the natural world, but out of its established order, possible only by the intervention of divine power.” (Webster’s Comprehensive Dictionary) Why did Jesus do so many miracles? That’s simple: the Holy Bible tells us in Acts 10:38 the answer-- “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.” Satan has come to rob, kill, and destroy. Jesus has come to give us life, and that more abundantly! Sometimes, we get so lost, so down and out, that only a miracle can save us, only a miracle can deliver us, only a miracle can set us free or heal us. Jesus Christ is the miracle-maker. If you need a miracle today, or want to learn more about Jesus and some of the miracles He did, this is the book for you!

I served as an assistant pastor at an inner city church in Philadelphia, PA, and again at an Assembly of God church in upstate New York. Currently, I am pastoring a small country Assembly of God church in upstate NY, and also devote time to serving as an emergency services chaplain with our County Sheriff's Office. My ministerial training and credentialing is through the Assembly of God's Global University/Berean School of the Bible. I have attained my Licensed Minister's credentials and am now studying to receive my Certificate of Emergency Services Chaplaincy.Personally, I love to hunt, fish, and enjoy the shooting sports. I enjoy working out in the gym with weightlifting being the primary means of staying in shape. I also enjoy karate and have earned my 1st degree black belt in Chun Kuk Do Karate.

    Preface:

Thank you for taking the time to read this study about Jesus Christ, the Miracle-Maker. This is the second sermon/study series in a group of sermons pertaining to Jesus Christ. As I began to pursue my dream of writing, I asked the Lord for direction and, after a time of prayer, I came across the following verse of Scripture in Psalms 45:1--

    "My heart overflows with a good theme;

I address my verses to the King

My tongue is the pen of a ready writer."

Taking my cue from this verse, I have taken three sermon series that I have preached about Jesus Christ, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords and have turned these sermon series into e-book form that can be used for your personal edification and enjoyment. This is the second of the series--Jesus Christ, the Miracle-Maker. The other two installments in this series are Jesus Christ, the Great I AM, and Jesus Christ, the Victory-Giver.

Furthermore, since this book is based on sermons that I have preached at my small town church where I have been the senior pastor for quite a few years now, you will undoubtedly notice some repetitive portions in each chapter. This is because when I preach on a sermon series I am faced with the challenge of preaching in a way that the series flows with a continuity that the regular attendee to the services stays engaged while also engaging the visitor who is coming into the series fresh. I want to reach the entire congregation, whether regular attendee or visitor, with the truth of God’s Word.

To meet this unique challenge, I have formatted my sermons into both a series that builds one sermon upon another, as well as stand-alone sermons. In so doing, every member of the congregation can be blessed. Because of this, you will notice some parts of the studies do have redundancy built into the material so that people just joining the series can pick up the discussion at any point of the series.

As a pastor that has to work a part-time job to be able to stay in the ministry and still provide for my family’s needs, I have learned that time is of the essence. Therefore, anytime I find something that can help me maximize my study time and sermon preparation time, I like to use these tools to help me to minister effectively. This book is meant to be a help to whoever is looking for solidly Biblical, powerful, and timely studies for their personal studies, or for sermons on the topic and Person of the Lord Jesus Christ. This book can be used for your individual devotions or Bible study. It can be used for a Sunday School class or small group Bible study. Or you can use these like I have: as a sermon to be preached from the pulpit in God’s House.

The good Christian folks at my church were blessed by this sermon series. And I trust that you also will be blessed as you take the time to read and study this sermon/study. If you are blessed by this book and find your love for the Lord Jesus Christ growing more and more because of this book, then writing this book is well worth the effort to publish it and to God be all glory and honor.

    God bless you.

    Jesus Christ, The Miracle-Maker

    Text:

Acts 10:38 You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good, and healing all who were oppressed by the devil; for God was with Him.

    And

I John 3:8b …The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

    Introduction:

Miracle means: an event in the natural world, but out of its established order, possible only by the intervention of divine power. (Webster’s Comprehensive Dictionary; Ferguson Publishing, 1987)

The word miracle, miracles, miraculous, etc., appear approximately 37 times in Scripture, according to Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance. However, the demonstrations of miracles, supernatural signs and wonders happen throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Some of the most awesome and touching miracles took place during the 3-year ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ as described in the Four Gospels. Doesn’t it just make sense that, since the Word of God is full of miracles that Jesus Christ, the Word of God made flesh, would be all about doing miracles?

Why did Jesus do so many miracles? That’s simple: look at our two key verses! Satan has come to rob, kill, and destroy. Jesus has come to give us life, and that more abundantly! Sometimes, we get so lost, so down and
