#1 – Tractor Tires
Recess lasted only twenty minutes, so Jonathan and Tom had to hurry. They climbed inside the biggest tractor tire on the playground, strapped on their seat belts and helmets, and fired up the engine. The giant tire rumbled and shook free from the dirt. Jonathan pressed the gas and slammed the transmission into drive, and the big tire took off! It bounced its way through the playground as shrieking kids dove out of the way. Jonathan steered the tire toward the parking lot, glanced at Tom as if to ask are you ready? Tom nodded yes! and both boys braced themselves. They drove up the hood of the first car in the parking lot which was a silver Mercedes that belonged to their gym teacher, Mr. Burn’s. The big tire squashed the shiny hood, and then pivoted on the rooftop and hopped to the next car, and then bounced its way down an entire row of parked cars. They smashed all of the teacher’s cars, including Mr. Tetley’s fancy Jaguar which he parked at the end of the lot so it wouldn’t get scratched. Finally, they steered the rubber beast back to the playground and parked the tire in the exact same spot. Jonathan hit the park button and the tire shook its way down into the dirt again at the exact moment the school bell rang. Both boys jumped out and headed back to class.
#2 – The Troll in the Bushes
Two boys walked a cobblestone path. As they neared a stone bridge spanning a stream, a clawed hand appeared from the bushes and snapped its green fingers. A gruff voice said, Fifty cents please.
One boy dropped a few coins into the filthy hand but the second boy didn’t have any money. You may pass,
said the voice to the boy who paid, waving him through. To the other he said,
