    Purpose of Guide

The purpose of this guide is to offer information useful to organizations seeking ideas for raising unrestricted funds. Unrestricted funds can enhance service delivery by allowing organizations to fund activities not usually covered by public or private grants. This publication contains activities and ideas that could be used to raise amounts ranging from a few dollars to several thousand dollars.

Many of the activities described in this guide require little to no up-front costs. However, you will need a few committed people who believe in your organization’s mission. Board members and other volunteers may choose to implement activities on behalf of the organization.

This guide is provided with the understanding that it is not for the purpose of rendering legal, accounting, or other professional services. It is not intended to replace the guidelines or policies of any organization or entity. If legal advice or expert assistance is required, the advice of a qualified professional should be sought.
