Elizabeth Reed
As long as I can remember I have always loved everything and anything to do with the romance genre. Enjoying writing, reading and watching a wide range of love stories. I am a true romantic at heart! So after studying for a philosophy degree and then going on to work in a corporate job in advertising, I decided to reconnect with my passion again! I now write mainly romance short stories, with the aim to share all of my ideas with others who also have an interest in romantic fiction. I write in a range of romance subgenres including erotic romance, contemporary, sweet, paranormal/fantasy fiction and historical. I hope to continue writing as long as my ideas keep flowing out from my mind. In early 2014 I experienced my own personal love story, when I married my one true love. I now live together with my husband in London.

Chapter 1
‘Sir…sir can you hear me at all? Please open your eyes so I can know you are not badly hurt, please Sir!’ Millie found herself speaking desperately in her panic as she leaned carefully over the body of a man laying down awkwardly and seemingly unconscious on the sandy floor.
‘Millie…do you think, you know…do you think that he is dead?’ Millie’s sister Lucinda voiced the dreaded thought as she stood up from behind her.
Not answering Lucinda at first Millie reached for the man’s wrist to feel for his pulse.
‘He’s alive, he’s alive!’ Millie turned to her sister with relief, ‘go get Tony and the other men we need to bring him back to the house. And run Lucinda there is no time to hesitate, we do not want his condition to worsen. I will watch over him while you are away.’
‘Sorry…of course yes, I will send for help,’ Lucinda snapped out of her trance that had had her staring down at the man to turn to run back as fast as her legs could carry her.
‘Who are you, Sir? Where do you come from?’ Millie asked the questions out loud although she did not expect any answers as she looked down at his pale face. Taking in his masculine chiselled jaw and prominent roman shaped nose with the result that she soon found herself taken aback when she realised that she actually thought him attractive, in a ruggedly handsome way.
‘Well we will find out the truth about you Sir when you are all mended,’ Millie concluded as her gaze finally rested on his sensual looking mouth, which automatically unleashed a stirring from inside her which made her feel a combination of both guilt and excitement.
‘Lady...where...am I?’
Millie found herself stunned into silence for some moments as the man held onto her left wrist, as he spoke with panic and tried desperately to move from his position.
‘Please stay where you are...my sister has gone for help she will be here any minute with the men who work for us. Just hang on,’ Millie finally replied back placing her hand on top of his own instinctively to give him comfort.
She did not know whether to be relieved or not when the man just stared back at her with a pair of vibrant dazzling green eyes that had her holding her breath for a few moments.
‘My name is Millie I found you here on the beach...’ She felt compelled to explain the situation.
‘Millie, Millie I have brought help,’ Lucinda shouted in the distance causing Millie to turn her head around to locate her sister who had four of their male servants walking just behind her.
‘You see I told you help would be here soon,’ Millie spoke her focus moving back to the mystery man, but she soon let out a sigh when she found that he had closed his eyes and was completely unconscious once again.
‘Please be gentle with him, carry him carefully,’ Millie warned as she stood up slowly before stepping aside for her men to lift him and bring him back to the house.
‘Millie...do you think he will be alright?’
‘Yes...I really hope he will.’
The two sisters walked from behind the men with watchful eyes, entangling their arms into a chain as they both prayed from within their minds that the man they had found unexpectedly would live to see another day.
‘And to think dear sister do you remember that I was commenting during our walk across the beach just minutes before we chanced upon the man, that it would be most welcome if something exciting and different happened to us for once, that would bring a change to our currently mundane existence, but I had not expected this!’
‘Well let that be a warning Lucinda be careful about what you wish for! On my part I have never cared for drama...and certainly I would have preferred to be spared that scene of viewing someone looking so worst for wear. But it matters not, in any case, our paths have crossed with our new guest, we will just have to take each day as it comes for his sake as well as our own,’ Millie spoke almost poetically and resigned to whatever fate had install for her.
And though Millie would not admit it even to her sister she did feel the sense of excitement that Lucinda had hinted about and internally craved for, especially as she remembered the intense looking green eyes that the man had used to look straight at her with, as if he was looking into her very soul.
‘Please be well again!’ Millie finally begged in her mind as she neared even closer to their destination, her home!
‘Oh good you are up now, we were all so very worried about you.’
‘Who are you and where am I?’ Christopher spoke slowly and carefully, as both pain and tiredness hit him almost immediately after opening his eyes to reconnect with the world.
‘Be careful now, let me help with that?’
‘No I am fine, I’ve got it,’ he spoke in frustration as he moved awkwardly to sit upright on the bed. ‘Like I said before who the hell are you?!’
‘You have woken up in a foul mood, but who can blame you after fighting death off and surviving...it’s quite remarkable really, but a good thing you were found when you were. I am sorry I digress again, in answer to your question I am a physician, your physician more specifically, Lady Fulton has hired me to see that you get back to full health,’ the mature, short and rounded man spoke joyously as he pushed his spectacles back up on his nose and looked over at his patient from where he stood.
‘I was found...you treated me?’
Christopher’s head started to spin in his confusion, but he knew that the physician must be speaking the truth or why else would he be where he was, and feeling half paralysed with it being a real effort for him to move any part of his body without causing himself pain.
‘Do you know how you ended up young man washed up on our remote shores?’
‘No...That is to say I don’t remember everything...I think I was in some sort of scrap I was fighting back, and then I was swimming for my life...then the last thing I can remember was a woman!’ He spoke with his mind all hazy as he started to be hit by flashbacks, but none more vivid than the image of a woman leaning over him with waves of thick chestnut hair and beautiful big blue eyes that looked down at me intensely, to show him that she cared about me!
‘Don’t worry, rest yourself your memories will come back in due time, to allow you to piece together the puzzle of how you came to be here,’ the physician spoke reassuringly.
‘Thank you doctor... for I guess for saving my life.’
‘No need to thank me, dear boy, I was only doing my job...but you might want to extend out your gratitude to Lady Fulton and her sister Miss Travis, if they did not find you when they did it might have been a different story entirely and you may very well not be laying here in that bed right now.’
‘Lady Fulton and her sister saved me?! Yes, I must thank them, where may I be able to find them?’
‘Don’t worry I will bring them to you very shortly, they asked me
