Summary

An individual may say or write something that is self-contradicting because it includes two negative thoughts. An example would be, "I didn't do nothing wrong." The words, "didn't" and "nothing" tend to reverse the sense of what the author means to say. Good speakers and writers don't double negatives. It's easy to avoid doing this.
