As always I enjoy composing material that is unique and hopefully inspires you, the reader, in some way.

Each poem tells a story and conveys a message of some kind. I have tried to create material that is interesting and expansive, covering a wide, absorbing range of topics.

The poems cover many subjects on different levels - emotion, feelings and being – love, peace, morals, war, greed, appreciation, perspective, humour and life in general.

I guess, albeit mostly subconsciously, I have been on a quest during my life’s journey to gain a better understanding of my place and surroundings in the world and cosmos. Through writing I feel able to better locate my own position within the apparent random universe that abounds. In so doing this helps to give me a clearer understanding and perception of who I am and of others around me.

I hope that when you read the book that these works also gives you an improved measure of comprehension and worth.

I enjoy photography, which assisted me in producing the artwork; many of the photos were taken locally, near to where I live in East Anglia.

I took the name of the book, from the very first poem, which offers some inspiration to the reader to achieve their hopes and dreams.

After all, as I often say and emphasise: all things are possible! – a few simple words that could and should inspire us all.

The Light of a New Sunrise

I wish to inspire a generation

to fill the world with love

There is a certain kind of brightness

that exists in everyone

Do not hold back the radiance

Let it out for all to see

Encourage others to do good things

and achieve their hopes and dreams

Give it dedication,

endeavour and persevere

to accomplish your goals with confidence

Why not take a steer

From an old war horse

with no where left to roam

He’s seen most things, been everywhere

Yet with still so much to learn

If ever opportunity knocks

grasp it with both hands, why not?

The chance is rarely there for long

and the moment may soon be gone

Plan and undertake

what you need to do today

Work on your aspirations

- don’t rely on chance
