Becoming Whole: An Adoptee's Supernatural Journey Part 1
By Marie Fong
()
About this ebook
In March 2010, adoptee Marie Fong received directions from the Lord to begin a journey to take care of her "unfinished business." She could have never imagined that this journey would culminate in a trip to Denver, Colorado, to meet her birth family.
In Part 1 of her journey, Marie shares personal insight as she navigated the experiences of emotional pain to power, and fear to freedom. The series of circumstances that opened before her as she chose the walk of obedience can only be described as "supernatural."
Marie Fong

PREFACE
June 25, 2011, Wheatridge, Colorado, 10 AM. I am out in the parking lot of a local hotel. My husband and youngest daughter are with me. We are getting ready to drive down the street to a family-type restaurant and there, I will meet my birth family, my brothers and my sister for the first time. I am totally trying to stay in the moment but it is so intense, that’s difficult. I am so excited, so thankful, so in wonder of what has transpired over the last several months. The things that have happened can only be described as a God Thing,
or a Divine Intervention,
or even, Supernatural.
If one year before you would have told me that I would be meeting my birth family, I would have told you that your imagination was way out of control. Never in my wildest imaginations would I have thought that this would be happening. I really had never even looked for my birth family. Yet, here we are, getting ready to drive to the restaurant. How did I get here?? How in heaven’s name was it possible for the LORD to do this amazing thing? Many people had to act and events had to transpire in an impossible order; people had to respond to an idea
to do something that culminated in me finding my place of beginnings, here in the Denver, Colorado area. As we are driving to this meeting, I am just so excited as I am pondering all of this that I don’t even know what to do with myself.
I look up to the foothills and mountains there, the beautiful Rockies. I have seen these mountains everyday as I grew up. The Scripture from Psalm 121:1,
I will lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth. NKJV
I actually spoke those words out loud to my family and said, Look at those hills, I grew up with those, seeing them every day, and now here I am looking at them again as I go to meet my birth family.
Little did I know that about 2 hours later, that Scripture would take on a whole new meaning for me.
CHAPTER ONE
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Okay, I have had what some would consider a fairly normal life. I have been married to the same man for over 40 years. Well, maybe in today’s society, some would not consider that normal, but hey! It works for me! I have three children, I have a beautiful home and a job that I love. I accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and LORD on October 13, 1977, and I have tried to live my life in a way that would please Him. My husband and I have been involved in music ministry on and off for the last 20 years. We have lived on an Indian Reservation in Montana for the last 15 years. It all sounds pretty normal and simple, right? Right?
Little did I know that beginning in March of 2010, I would begin a journey that would lead to the culmination of a lifetime of healing and becoming whole. I was sitting in my living room, spending some quiet time with the LORD, looking out the window at the lovely mountain that I live on. The mountains have always ministered to me. I absolutely love the mountains. I love the aromas, the animals that come by, the sound that the wind makes as it blows through the pine trees, the quiet; I love everything about the mountains. As I was basking in the beauty that I was seeing, the LORD spoke to my heart. I will be saying that, the LORD spoke to my heart,
in this book, so it is important for you to know that I do not hear audible voices. I just get impressions, something in my knower,
the still, small voice.
Nothing weird!
So, the LORD spoke to my heart this simple
phrase. I want you to begin to take care of your unfinished business.
I sat there, a little stunned. Unfinished business? Me? I was in my 50’s at the time, I really shouldn’t have any major unfinished business by this time. Right? Wrong!!! All of the sudden, I felt that I knew exactly what the LORD was talking about;
