I can can usually be found plunking away at the computer or arguing with one of my characters, (which means talking to myself), in my batcave. I'm an avid reader of just about everything in print but I LOVE romance. Johanna Lindsey, Julie Garwood, Judith McNaught and Jude Deveraux are who I cut my teeth on. I can remember hiding under the covers with a light reading because I had to finish that last chapter before I went to sleep. My grandmother fostered my love of reading, encouraged me to read whatever I could get my hands on. I love insta-love, happy ever afters, alpha men and sassy women. I still love all the above mentioned ladies but now have new authors to add to my 'have to read' list. When I'm not writing I can be found playing with my beautiful granddaughters and my handsome grandson, reading anything I can get my hands on, and daydreaming about traveling the world. I'm addicted to ancestry and trying new recipes my sister makes. I'm her official taste-tester and will fight tooth and nail to keep that title. Prequel

Banks heard the pounding on the door and rolled out of bed, looked at the clock with a growl; three in the morning, there better be an emergency.

He walked down the stairs looked out the window and saw his waitress from the bar, Tammy standing on the front porch holding her little girl in her arms. Banks pulled the door open.

What’s going on Tammy? Is everything ok? He asked her. Tammy shoved the little girl in his arms, he caught her so that she didn’t hit the floor.

I can’t do this anymore, I need you to keep her for a while, I met a guy and he doesn’t want her around. Tammy said hurriedly.

What do you mean you need me to keep her, Tammy? This is your child; you can’t just dump her off! Banks said angrily, keeping his voice low so he didn’t scare the little girl.

Look, I can give you money, I can’t take her with me. She snapped back at him.

Stop and think about what you’re doing women, no man is worth your child. Banks hissed out.

No, this child isn’t worth my man! Tammy said angrily, her voice loud. The little girl in his arms just looked at her, didn’t cry or reach out for her, she just sat in Bank’s arms and watched the two adults talking.

If you won’t take her them I’ll leave her somewhere else, but she isn’t going with me! Tammy reached out to take the child and the little girl leaned away from her and put her arms around Banks’s neck hugging him tightly. Fuck. She didn’t know what she was doing, but she just sealed her fate, she was now his.

I’ll keep her, but you are going to wait right here until I get it signed and sealed that you can never come back and try to get her. I’ll be fucked if you’re going to do this again. Banks told her, his voice hard and unyielding.

I don’t want her back, she’s yours, but you need to get someone here now, I’m not waiting all night for this shit, I’ve got places to be. Tammy went to walk into the house and Banks blocked her.

You can wait out here, I’ll make some calls and get someone here now. Banks walked into the house and made some calls.

Banks found out in the next hour, that the little girl’s name was Finley Grace, she was three years old, and from this day forward she was now his Lucky.

    Chapter One

The vibrations from the phone on the table next to the bed had Finlay jumping up, her hand flying towards the table where her phone sat.

I don't know who is texting but they're going to get hurt! She mumbled as she squinted at the phone trying to see who it was.

Groaning she turned off the alarm and threw the phone back on the table and pushed her head back into the pillow. The pounding on the door ten minutes later made her realize she had dozed back off.

Time to get up Lucky, you’re going to be late. Banks hollered through the door, Breakfast in fifteen.

He gave another knock on the door before going back down stairs. She didn’t know how he did it, working at the bar till closing every night and still manages to wake before her every morning.

She kicked off the covers, crawled out of bed and headed for the bathroom to shower. Turning the shower on and adjusting it, she stripped, jumped in and let the water finish waking her up.

After getting dressed, she stood in front of the mirror wondering if she had made the wrong decision to wait a year before going to college. Banks and his sons, Jake and Abel, thought she should have gone straight to college. It was a big fight that lasted
