For grandma. For teaching me the art of feeding the soul.

For my husband, family, friends, and taste testers. Thanks for your loyal support and for encouraging me in my passion for food.

Two years ago, I started writing a Chick Lit novel titled Bon Bons to Yoga Pants off the cuff. I had no idea where it was going. I just knew what message I wanted to send. In the book, a group of three women bond together in the pursuit of health, happiness, and weight loss. Lexie Greene, the main character, learns that the number on the scale isn’t nearly as important as how she feels about herself.

Fast-forward to now. The three-woman Health and Happiness Society has blossomed into an award-winning Chick Lit series with fans spread across the globe.

To say that food is integral to The Health and Happiness Society Series would be an understatement, which is precisely why I’ve partnered with talented food and lifestyle blogger Kimberley Copithorne to create brand-new recipes pertinent to my books. She embodies the spirit of the Health and Happiness Society with her pursuit of yummy food—both healthy and not-so-much—as well as a well rounded life full of all the best things. And I’m not just talking about scrumptious Oreo Cakes. (Which you can find here.)

Within this book, you can find recipes that you read about in the current and upcoming Health and Happiness Society books. I hope that you can enjoy the spirit of the Health and Happiness Society by eating sensational healthy foods (which you can find starting here), as well as an occasional treat now and then!

 Note from the Creator

When I first read Bon Bons to Yoga Pants, it really tugged on my heart. I could relate to Lexie, but I also loved Megan, Bitsy, Rachelle, and all the others. As I went along with them on their journeys, I started to realize that life requires balance. Lexie learned that food didn't have to be the enemy, and she didn't need to stop herself from enjoying it.

When Katie approached me about doing this cookbook, I knew exactly what I wanted to put in it. Lexie has a sweet tooth and loves certain things, so why not try to copy them and have it as a great treat once in a while?

We all need a little chocolate in our lives, am I right?

It's been fun being inspired by specific characters. Catering to their likes and story lines has been a creative adventure. I hope you all enjoy the recipes as much as I did. Don't be afraid to cater it to your own tastes as well!

Cooking is all about exploring and finding new flavors and combinations, so have fun with it!

—Kimberley Copithorne

Rachelle's section is focused on the bakery where she works. I love walking into a bakery and finding the clear case full of butter-filled treats, amazing hand-crafted breads, and mouth-watering pastries. Bakery-style, quality foods can be made at home! In the Frosting Cottage section, I will show you just how to do that. It really isn't as hard as it may
