Chapter 1: MANDATE OF JESUS

GOD HAS A FAMILY

The background to the mandate of Jesus is the desire of God Almighty to expand His kingdom by creating a visible world for His children. The visible world was designed as a nursery for God’s children in Hypostatic form. Omniscient God knew before the beginning began that Lucifer and the First Adam would fail Him. He therefore made plans to become a Man to bring the plan of God to pass on earth.

Jesus Christ is God the Father in human flesh. The promise of the Seed of the woman was made by God in the Garden of Eden as a gracious redemptive offer to the posterity of fallen Adam and Eve. (Gens 3:15). God’s main concern in the dispensations and eras that followed was to find an acceptable line of descent for His Son to come into the world to carry out His mandate.

Patriarchs and Prophets like Enoch and Moses spoke about the coming Messiah but it was Isaiah who made a clear statement on His mandate in Isaiah 61:1-3. The Apostles’ Creed is a good summary of the Mandate of Jesus.: I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence He shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

The mandate God gave to His Son Jesus Christ for planet earth made provision for the Eternal Son of God to assume a human body and go into the world to seek and save what God lost through the rebellion of Lucifer and transgression of Adam and Eve. Jesus was mandated to seek, save and re-establish lost mankind on earth by giving abundant life
