I love writing! I' ve been doing it since I was a teenager. I'm in my thirties and it hasn't changed. My style of writing has though. No longer do I write about everyone being happy or how someone fell in love within one hour of meeting one another. I still write about love, but I also add the trials and tribulations people go through when they find and have it. I even write about happy people, but I also write about how behind those smiles is darkness, sometimes loneliness. I write to bring out a reaction in people. I want people to email me and tell me how much my poems touched or inspired them. I want my work to be read in book clubs or one of my poems to be read at a wedding. God didn't give me this gift to write for myself but to share it with the world, and I will continue to do so until I breathe my last breath.

Preface

First, I would like to start off by saying thank you for showing your support by purchasing Poetic Love. I am very humbled and appreciative of your support as this is my first poetry book.

Poetic Love consists of poems ranging from love, sad and funny, to spiritual and inspirational. I believe you will enjoy reading it by yourself or with your partner.

There were many endless reasons as to why I decided to compile poems for Poetic Love. However, my main reason is that I respect the institution of marriage and what it stands for. I understand that relationships and marriage must endure the test of time because with God on your side, you can weather any storms that may come your way.

Finally, I would also like to give honor and glory to God, for he has been my strength through this process. I would also like to thank my family: Arnold Pierce Sr, Arnette Trimble, Doris, Anjanette, Leon, Edgar, Arnold Jr. Pierce and my nieces for always listening to my ideas and my late mother and brother, Doris Johnson Pierce and Arnold Eddie Pierce
