    Chapter 1- Why You Must STOP NOW

    Some complications that can arise from the heavy use of alcohol include:

    Delirium or mental confusion

    Unsteady gait

    Severe amnesia

    Reduction is sperm cells

    Gastrointestinal bleeding, repeated vomiting

    Pancreatitis

    Apart from that, long term use of alcohol reduces the life expectancy of an individual by approximately fifteen years and increases the risk for:

    Damage to the liver or cirrhosis (liver failure)

    Heart failure, heart disease, high blood pressure

    Nerve and brain damage

    Particular types of cancer including breast, esophageal, laryngeal, throat and mouth

    Osteoporosis

    Nutritional deficiencies

    Tuberculosis, pneumonia and other infections

    Osteoporosis and low density in bone minerals

    The great thing however is that though the abuse of alcohol is a serious condition with possible dreadful consequences, it can be treated.
