About this ebook

Dust coated Vivian's lips. Two hours of driving into town with her ex-boyfriend Ash was bad enough. Having him dump her way far away from the loading dock with her fossil was worse.

But she'd made it back to town, gotten her fossil to safety and now she could go relax at home.

If it weren't for the unicorns playing in her shower.

Vivian wasn't sure how her life had gotten so surreal but hey, at least the unicorns had finally let her bring her fossil in.

Only question left was whether or not she'd get to keep her life.

And whether they'd eat all her pizza, too.

Dust coated Vivian's lips. Two hours of driving, most of it over dirt roads, had left her coated head to booted toe in dust. Ash, her now-former boyfriend, had offered to let her ride in the cabin of his truck. With that insincere smile that said he was more interested in getting his hands back in her pants than anything else.

Vivian had turned him down flat. Like she was going there after all the crap he'd put her through over the dig this summer. Iman had been so right that he wasn't worth the effort. Good to look at but a total tool in every other way.

Besides, Vivian hadn't dared take her hands off her precious fossil. Three summers of struggles to get one of these skulls back to the lab, cleaned and cast, and for the first time Vivian had hopes of actually succeeding. If she could get it there intact. If Ash wasn't a total asshole, hitting every single pothole like the brat he was.

If the unicorns would allow it at all.

Her whole body ached from the drive but they were back in the city, back at the science building again. Back gate where they loaded and unloading things, too, so that was good. Not that Ash did the right thing and backed up to the dock.

Oh no, he had to be an ass and park off in the lot instead of letting them get the fossils out of his truck the right way.

Man, I hate him, Iman murmured as she shook her head at Ash's grumbling inside the cab.

Poor boy, not one girl wanted to let him grope her on the way back. Oh, so sad for him. Vivian snorted and nodded to Iman. Then tried to
