Sometimes love appears when you least expect it, and sometimes it’s nowhere to be found where you think it should be. Ben Roberson, who is ever so diligent on taming wild horses for cattle on the ranch and pulling carriages in town, has decided he wants to start to settle down and start a family. But he is struggling to find a mate and doesn't take any advice or suggestions from his friends.
Some appear to be sweet and as fitting as can be but end up being the exact opposite, where those who don’t even seem possible become the perfect fit. Love is an interesting thing when Ben learns to take the chance on his feelings but it is something he learns from and never regrets once he finds that women to love eternally.
Epilogue
Ben Roberson had dark brown eyes, ashy brown hair, and a smile that could make any lady fall in love. He had a well-toned, muscular body, which was built from his daily routine. He worked from dawn to dusk, taming wild horses to domesticate them. Their primary use after being trained was to rope cattle. However, a few of the calmest ones became carriage horses to pull the locals around wherever they needed to go.
Ben took pride in what he did because it helped his entire town. With taming quality ranch horses, it helped keep the other cowboys safe, which was of utmost importance. A few years ago, before Ben took over training, a lot of the horses weren’t being trained properly and would fling riders off their backs and try to trample them. Cowboys were getting hurt all the time, and there were only so many medics to help and only so many ranchers to deal with the cattle. However since Ben took over, the horses had begun to respond well to domestication and adapted quite well. They didn’t fear humans nearly as much as they used to, and it made him wonder what techniques were used on the poor animals to make them submit. There had been close to no accidents since the change in training, further proving how well of a job he had been doing.
Ben loved his life and spent many hours at work. But one thing that bothered him was the lack of a special lady. He had no one to go home to, no one to take on surprise adventures with and no one to cook for. While this fact bothered him, he didn’t let it affect him.
Why don’t you ask that Mary out sometime? She seems mighty interested in ya. And she’s a looker too!
Tuck, one of the other cowboys, often suggested.
Nah,
Ben would dispute. She’s just doing her job. I appreciate her deeply and appreciate her hard work and I don’t want to make things awkward. I like things just the way they are with her. I need someone like that in my life.
But someone like that could become your wife.
True, but as I said; she is just doing her job. She does the same thing to all of us, and I’m no more special to her than you.
Fair enough. Well, what about Beth Ann, the rancher’s daughter? She has a heart full of adventure.
"Ahh,
