Chapter One
Robin smiled eagerly at the man who sat in front of her desk. Dressed in a pale pink button-down shirt and dress trousers and with a short, brisk haircut, he looked every bit the ad salesman she needed. He crossed one ankle over the other knee and jiggled his foot, balancing his slim laptop as he worked frantically. I’ve just about got this all ready to go for you.
I’m surprised. I would have thought it would take you a while to get the ad done. I want to get word out there about my studio, but I’m not in that much of a rush.
Business had been slowly trickling in since she had opened First Glance Photography, turning an old downtown grocery store into a spacious studio. Robin was ready for things to take off, but she also wanted things to be right. I can wait.
The salesman, Nick Walker, had been Jake’s suggestion. He’s the best,

He leaned forward toward the screen, his dark eyes intense in his pointed face as his fingers flew.
I really appreciate everything you’re doing for me. A few people know I’m here just because of what I’ve done on social media or because they drove by, but I really want everyone to know they don’t have to drive an hour to a big city to get good portraits.
She looked around at her studio. Her first few clients had bought big enough photo packages that she was able to buy the backdrop storage rack and holder she’d been wanting. They were just a couple of small things, but they let her know she was heading in the right direction.
It’s no problem. You know, it’s really great that you don’t have any local competition. You can charge whatever you want, and people will have to pay it.
He made a few final clicks before turning the computer around. There. How’s that?
Robin looked over the ad carefully, ensuring that everything was spelled correctly. It was, but there was one major problem. "I’m sorry. The special sitting fee is supposed to be ninety-five dollars, not fifty-nine. And we should put something in there about how that doesn’t
