Summary

Bess, the dark-eyed landlord's daughter, is lucky. She comes from a good family, has a good life, and has found her one true love.

But her lover is an outlaw -- a gentleman highwayman. And a jealous would-be suitor far below her station has decided to do his level best to make Bess and her outlaw love as wretched as the abyss of his own heart.

Captive witness to the ambush laid for her beloved rakish rogue, Bess is faced with a decision that will make or break her chances of being held in his strong arms once again.

Based upon the 1906 Alfred Noyes' poem of the same name.
