WHEN did you begin taking photographs?
Ted Leeming: After I left college, I did various jobs including freelance photography, then I was a staff photographer on an Operation Raleigh expedition to Patagonia. When I returned, I got involved in renewable energy and set up a consultancy with a friend of mine. 12 years later in 2004, I needed a break and decided to live in my camper van for a year and develop a portfolio of landscape work. At the end of that period I set up as a professional photographer, focusing entirely on the outdoors.
I always had a camera when I was young, but photography was really just a vague hobby until I met Ted. After that, I borrowed his equipment and experimented properly and it became a much more serious interest. I
