Summary

This book is the story of one young boy who was placed in a boys' home following a horrible family incident and follows him from age seven throughout the rest of his life. The book highlights his growing years as an active, inquisitive, young boy followed by a career in the United States Army and U.S. Air Force, where he served as a pilot in three wars, as well as his subsequent years as the director of a boys' home. Following each chapter are two stanzas of poetry pertaining to the events and experiences in the chapter, and the poem, in its entirety, can be found at the end of the book.
