    "Would you like to see what happens to my dolls and stuffed animals when they come to life?

    Hello Everyone! My name is Scottie.

    I am from the state of Maine. Maine is the largest and most eastern of the six New England states. So, it means that I am a New England Yankee.

    I am now living in Texas with my husband, John. We live in the place where he grew up. His brother, several cousins, and his Aunt Lida all live near us.

    That’s enough about me. Now I want you to meet my dolls and stuffed animals. I gave each one of them a new name when they came to live with us. I usually call them the kids. They call me, Mama Scottie. Let me introduce you to the first four kids, one at a time. You will meet the others later. Most of them have Irish names.

    Kelley is the older doll and wears a straw hat. She is neater than her twin sister, Katie. Kelley likes to be in charge and can be very bossy. Sometimes she tells the other kids to help her do her chores. That is when the kids start to quarrel and I have to separate them. Kelly also likes to tattle when her sister jumps on the bed.

    Katie is very curious doll. She looks like her twin sister, but is so different in many ways. Always happy and carefree, Katie likes to have fun and does not mind getting dirty. Often she kicks off her shoes and runs around in her socks. She climbs trees, crawls under the fence, or turns summersaults. Sometimes her clothes get stained or torn. She always giggles when her pigtails come loose while she is jumping on the big bed or playing in the yard.
