Twas a dark and dreary night
When I first saw her in the light.
She was dressed all in black.
I gazed at her and she looked back.
Her braided hair was black as coal.
Midnight was the hue of her shawl.
A silky dress the color of ebony.
And shoes so black and shiny.
She had a look that was mysterious.
She made me very curious.
Walking towards the glowing light.
I saw her smile so cheery and bright.
The extreme chill that I had was gone.
We walked hand in hand until the dawn.
I asked her to be with me for life.
Now the lady in black is my wife.
