About this ebook

Food is essential; unfortunately the foods we love are mostly loaded with ingredients that are harmful to us. Such as: too much sugars and flour. Obesity and Diabetics are the result of eating these things. We are striving to live healthier lives by reducing the amount of harmful ingredients we put in our bodies. Watching what we eat, dieting, and exercise are a few things we do. Experts are now telling us to eat 5 or 6 moderate meals a day, to help reduce or regulate our weight. Millions of people have turned to whey and soy products to replace one or two meals a day. Every two or three hours we should have a small portion of something good for us. Like fruits or snacks. The Goal of this book is for you to enjoy snacks and deserts, by replacing some of the sugars and flour for whey proteins. Helping you to get the fiber and proteins you need without sacrificing, the texture and flavor of the food. Really you cant tell the difference between cooking with whey or soy protein in these receipts from not using them. Even in the icings they are not sicken sweet but, they are sweet. This is not a diet book or a cure for obesity, but the authors sugar levels and cholesterol count has been greatly reduced. Also included are several new receipts. Like 4 new no bake cookies, and more. Each receipt has the Nutritional information per servings, so you know what you are eating.

    A Note from the Author

Whey protein is a wonderful food supplement. It makes those tasty treats we love to eat just a little bit healthier for us, without changing the flavor. I have tested each of these recipes in my own kitchen, and my family and friends could not distinguish the difference between those recipes that I used whey protein in from those I did not. Each picture in this book is from my kitchen, no doctoring or staging to make them look different than they really turn out. For those of you who still have questions; I have a little question and answer section below. I hope you enjoy all of these recipes; from my kitchen to yours!

    What is Whey Protein?

Whey protein is one of the two major proteins found in milk. Whey protein is found in various foods such as low fat ice-cream, infant formula and bread.

What are the health benefits of Whey Protein?

According to the Mayo clinic, "Whey protein is also a popular dietary supplement for improving muscle strength and body composition and for the prevention of heart disease, diabetes, and age-related bone loss.

Whey protein may aid in the prevention of some hereditary conditions, such as the tendency to develop allergies. It may act as an appetite suppressant and aid in the control of blood sugar."

Who will benefit from and enjoy these recipes?

Put simply? Everyone; the supplement does not change the taste of the foods you are eating. However, you are replacing some of the not so good for you ingredients with a healthier food choice. Additionally, the added health benefits are good for healthy individuals who want to stay that way while occasionally snacking; as well as people who need to watch their carb or sugar intake. And for those parents who cringe every time they hand their little one a cookie or sweet baked good; they can rest easier knowing this option is a little healthier.

Where can I learn more about Whey Proteins?

The Mayo clinic has done extensive research on the benefits of Whey Protein. You can view their website which is full of information on the subject and supported by their research and methodology. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/whey-protein/NS_patient-wheyprotein

    Almond Stripe Cookies

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees:

In a mixing bowl combine all of the above ingredients, except the almonds. Beat on high speed with a mixer until well combined. Divide the dough into four equal parts, and onto a lightly floured surface roll each one into a 12 inch long roll. Place 2 of them onto an ungreased cookie sheet 5 inches apart. With your hands flatten each roll until they are 3 inches wide, and brush the tops with water. Sprinkle the almonds on the tops of them. Bake for 12 minutes, until the edges are golden brown. While hot, cut the cookies into 1 inch diagonal strips and cool. This batch will make 48 cookies.
