Marijuana is illegal under the federal government in the United States. In spite of the federal law, some states have made it legal for certain purposes with restrictions. Marijuana is legal for medical purposes in many states, but use of marijuana for recreational purposes is illegal in most states. Although marijuana is known to be harmful, people have opposing views on whether it should be classified as a crime or not.
The Bible warns us to be sober minded and watchful (see 1 Peter 5:8). In 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, we are reminded our body is a temple for the Holy Spirit and that we should glorify God with our bodies. The fruit of the Spirit includes self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

Lord, we pray for those who suffer physically and emotionally that they would receive Your comfort and peace. We pray they will not compromise their faith when it comes to receiving professional care. Guide Americans to vote according to Your good and perfect will.
