About this ebook
Josie is getting a taste of St. Louis’s foodie scene—Travel America Guided Tours just hired her to test area restaurants for an upcoming package. Their list includes Tillie’s Off the Hill, a classic Italian joint owned by Tillie Minnelli, a former classmate of Josie’s mother. It should be a pretty sweet gig, but the assignment quickly turns sour when an unruly customer dies after eating Tillie’s special sauce.
While detectives move to put Tillie on ice for murder, Josie’s mom implores Josie to whip up another amateur investigation. The case has more secret ingredients than anyone anticipated: a jilted lover, a greedy real estate developer, and even a disgruntled employee. But there’s no time for Josie to savor all the possibilities, she must skewer the culinary killer before someone else is served a final course.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Synopsis: Josie's mystery shopping job has her sampling foods that, while typical in St. Louis, are not main stream. One of her mother's friends owns a restaurant on the list, and is accused of murdering one of her customers.Review: Interesting story, but Josie is more timid and whiney than usual.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is an excellent book. A lot of series begins to get old after awhile but this book is as fresh as the first in the series.Josie Marcus, mystery shopper, is at it again. This time her assignment is to mystery shop local restaurants for a New York tour company. From brains and pig ears to toasted ravioli, Josie is up to her ears in food. She tries the ravioli and finds it to her liking. However, she does not like the drunk that the police have to escort from the bar. She returns in an attempt to give the company a good rating. Unfortunatly, she chooses the night that the drunk tells the owner to make his dipping sauce extra hot. She tells Josie that she is going to see that he never returns to her bar. A few minutes later he is on the floor of the bar and a few hours later, he dies in the hospital. Now Josie's mom insists that Josie find the real killer before Tillie loses her restaurant.
